Zanone scores 5 as Sapphire United go goal crazy
 
 
The H&DFL Division 1 Cup Final between Sapphire United and Lindsey Street was watched by just under 200 spectators at BSFC. Stuart Zanone stole the show with a sintalating performance that was rewarded with 5 goals. In the 5th min of the game Stuart Zanone showed great work with the ball and worked his way into the box and squared to S Poole whos shot went just over the bar, a minute later and a long ball from the Sapphire defence see’s Zanone get on the end of it and calmly makes it 1-0 to Sapphire. In the 11th min Lindsey St awarded a free kick and D Fitch’s effort grazes the crossbar, in the 17th min Poole robs the Lindsey St defence and crosses for Zanone, Keeper Collins fumbles the ball only for Zanone’s follow up to rebound off the post and cleared, Collins was in for a busy day, 20th min and a great crossfield pass from Wilkinson finds Poole, who curls one to the bottom corner but Collins saves superbly, Sapphire got their 2nd in the 24th min when S Poole’s free kick is saved by Collins but parried straight to the feet of Stuart Zanone who tapped home from 4 yds. 5 mins later and Sapphire were 3-0 to the good, a Lindsey St corner was cleared by J Zanone, the ball was played wide and J Zanone continued his run, a few passes later J Zanone powered his shot past the helpless Collins, in the 37th min Collins saves well from a S Zanone shot, in the 40th min Ricardo Remi latches onto a ball over the top and only has the keeper to beat but unselfishly  squares for Stuart Zanone to complete a first-half hat-trick, 4-0 Sapphire. In the 42nd min J Zanone hits a long free kick and Remi shot deflects off of Lindsey St defender and into the net, 5-0 Sapphire. Only a min later and after a wonderful reverse pass from Poole, Remis delicate chip over Collins made it 6-0 to Sapphire and that was the first half over.
 
 
Lindsey St came out fighting in the second half and a min on the clock sees Shaw head on for Fitch to shoot just over the bar, Fitch then robs the Sapphire defence and shoots inches wide, in the 52nd min  a fine shot from W Flegg sees M Ponter make a finger tip save, in the 58th min Remi squares to S Zanone on the edge of the box and he drives his shot home for his fourth goal of the game and Sapphire’s 7th, in the 63rd min J Zanone takes a long throw which is flicked on by S Zanone and into the net for his fifth of the game. Lindsey St get a consolation goal in the 67th min when Shaw races through the Sapphire defence and prods home past Keeper Ponter, in the 80th min A Newman was brought down in the area and Sapphire are awarded a penalty, Remi steps up and makes it 9-1 to Sapphire, 4 mins later and Poole gets his well deserved goal when he robs the defence and slots home, the final whistle brought the game to an end. Final score Sapphire United 10, Lindsey Street 1.
