League Plate Final

FC Clark 0 Eppaldo 1 (after extra time)

Both sides having made it through to A cup final already this season, this gave each club the opportunity of a double cup win.

In the early exchanges it was an even affair, with both teams pressing and looking for the opening goal. FC Clark stand in keeper Jack Weeks made a succession of excellent saves to deny Eppaldo.

FC Clarks Adam Johnson felt he had opened the scoring only to see his shot cleared off the line by Chris Allen.

Eppaldo kept pressing looking for that opener and it was Chris Willis who hit the post just before half time who come close.

Just before half time Jordan Tovell had to be replaced after a crunching tackle left him was a damaged ankle and a visit to A&E.

Early in the second half an overhead kick from Rob Warren was cleared off the line, and minutes later Warren see his 25 yard free kick strike the cross bar.

Weeks was in fine form to deny Willis a further two opportunities to give Eppaldo the lead.

Whilst up the other end the pace of Johnson was a constant threat for FC Clark.

With neither team able to find that vital goal the game headed into extra time.

Eppaldo finally got the break through when Frankie Major beat the offside trap and slotted past the keeper from 18 yards to give Eppaldo the lead.

Both teams pressed forward with Johnson and Nash going close for Clark whilst Major and Willis remained a threat for Eppaldo.

With both keepers playing well and pulling off a succession of fine saves the game come to a close with Eppaldo deserved winners 1-0 on the night.
